Websites and business systems for companies in Milan

Milan runs on wholesale. Showrooms, seasonal collections, distributors, agents, orders placed months before delivery. And in a surprising number of companies the whole thing is held together by a spreadsheet, a shared mailbox and someone who remembers which client gets which discount.

We build two things: websites (landing pages, company sites, B2B catalogues, online shops) and online systems for internal operations (finance, inventory, process-specific modules, CRM). Order either one, or connect them so that orders, stock and invoices stop living in separate tools.

What Milan companies ask us for

A B2B catalogue with real availability. The most common request. Buyers want to see the range, their own prices and what is actually in stock without emailing an agent and waiting a day. A catalogue solves a large part of the manual work in one step.

Client-specific pricing. In wholesale one product has several prices: distributor, retailer, long-standing client, seasonal promotion. If the system cannot hold that, someone corrects prices by hand on every order, and errors follow.

Inventory by size, colour and article. This is where generic tools break. A single product with eight sizes and four colours is thirty-two stock positions, not one. Fashion and footwear companies lose more money to this than to anything else in their back office.

Pre-orders and seasonal collections. An order placed in January for delivery in June is not the same as a stock order. The system has to distinguish committed quantities from available quantities, otherwise the same units get sold twice.

Management numbers, not tax numbers. Your accountant produces what the tax authority requires. Margin by collection, by client and by channel is a different report.

Services and prices

We quote in US dollars and can settle in euro. Figures below use a rate of 0.92.

Service Price Timeline
Landing page from $200 (approx. 185 EUR) 1-2 weeks
Company website from $500 (approx. 460 EUR) 1-2 weeks
Catalogue website from $900 (approx. 830 EUR) 2-3 weeks
Online shop from $1,250 (approx. 1,150 EUR) 2-4 weeks
Financial accounting from $500 (approx. 460 EUR) 2-3 weeks
Inventory management from $700 (approx. 650 EUR) 2-4 weeks
CRM system from $1,200 (approx. 1,100 EUR) 3-10 weeks

Ordering the catalogue and the inventory system together costs less than two separate projects: the data structure is designed once instead of twice.

"From" does not mean everything is included at that price. The exact figure follows the briefing, and before work starts you see what you are paying for.

What is specific to Italy

This is where international tools usually need adapting.

Electronic invoicing through SDI. Italy routes invoices through the national exchange system. An invoice is not a PDF sent by email — it is a structured file transmitted through SDI, addressed by recipient code or certified email. Any invoicing module has to produce the correct format and handle rejections and delivery notices. We plan for this from the start; adding it later is consistently more expensive.

Recipient code and certified email. Every business customer has a delivery route for electronic invoices. Your system needs to store it against the client record, or every invoice becomes a manual lookup.

Split payment and reverse charge. Certain transactions, especially with public bodies and cross-border B2B, follow special VAT handling. The invoicing module must support more than one VAT treatment per client.

Italian accounting tools. Fatture in Cloud, Aruba and similar services are widely used. Our systems do not replace them. They supply the internal figures your accountant does not produce, and hand over structured data.

Language. If you sell inside Italy, the customer-facing site needs Italian alongside English. Each language on its own URL, translated properly rather than machine-translated. We build the structure and prepare English copy; Italian copy is best written or reviewed by a native speaker on your side.

GDPR. Server location in the EU, a written data processing agreement, documented access rights and a deletion policy — supplied in writing.

Payment habits. Bank transfer dominates B2B, with terms often at thirty or sixty days. That makes receivables tracking a core function rather than an add-on: who owes what, since when, and what has been invoiced but not paid.

How we work with Milan

Plainly: we have no office in Milan. We work remotely.

For online systems this makes no practical difference — your team works in a browser, nothing is installed on an office machine. Drafts, copy and intermediate builds are reviewed online.

What we commit to instead:

  • Working hours 10:00 to 19:00, one hour offset from Milan.

Replies land inside your working day.

  • All correspondence, documentation and handover notes in

English.

  • Visible intermediate builds rather than a finished result on

the last day.

  • Staged payments: deposit, then payment after each stage.
  • No sales call before the estimate.

If you need a supplier you can visit in person, or someone who attends showroom appointments, we are not that supplier.

Process

  1. Enquiry. Describe the task briefly — form or email.
  2. Briefing. We map the process and the constraints: how

your range is structured, how prices differ by client, what already exists.

  1. Prototype and estimate. Scope, stages and price fixed

within one working day.

  1. Development. In stages. Usual order: product and stock

structure first, catalogue second.

  1. Launch. Stock accuracy, pricing rules, invoice format

and access rights checked; short guide for your team.

  1. Support. Defects on our side are fixed; new work is

quoted separately.

Project example

Wholesale catalogue with live stock — clients pick items on the site, the salesperson sees real availability and builds the shipment from the accounting system.

Frequently asked questions

You are not based in Milan. How does that work? Remotely, with replies inside the Milan working day. For online systems and websites an on-site meeting is rarely necessary. If it is essential for you, we will say honestly that we are not a good fit.

Can you handle electronic invoicing through SDI? Yes. The module produces the required structured format, stores recipient routing per client and processes delivery and rejection notices. Exact scope depends on your volume and document types.

Can the system handle sizes and colours properly? Yes — that is one of the reasons companies come to us. Stock is tracked per variant, not per product, and reservations work at variant level.

Which language do you work in? English for all correspondence, documentation and support. Italian customer-facing copy can be prepared, but we recommend a native review on your side.

How do we pay? Bank transfer in euro or US dollars, in stages. Not the full amount on day one.

Who owns the domain, hosting and code? You do. The domain is registered in your name and access is handed over at launch.

Where is the data stored? On servers in the EU, stated in the data processing agreement.

Are there monthly costs? For a website, only domain and hosting. For online systems, depending on user count and data volume — agreed in advance.
